An academic advisory body convened by Governor Gavin Newsom, co-chaired by Fei-Fei Li, Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar, and Jennifer Tour Chayes. Its report, based on a scientific analysis of the capabilities and risks of frontier models, became the direct foundation for California's SB 53 (2025).
